Paul Feig drops out of BRIDGET JONES 3

Can't say that I blame him either, I personally see no need for a third film in this lackluster franchise. Deadline reportss that Feig has dropped out as director fo Bridget Jones 3, and Universal is now searching for a British director. Both Feig and Universal agreed to part ways and feel a Brit director would be better suited for the comedy.  A new director will be announced soon, with production slated for January. Renee Zellweger, Colin Firth and Hugh Grant are all eager to return.

Feig has an untitled comedy he is writing and will direct for producer Judd Apatow. The play is that Jon Hamm will play a guy obsessed with a woman who’ll be played by Melissa McCarthy. That will be a perfect way to tide fans over as Universal works hard to develop a Bridesmaids sequel.
