Trailer for the Indie Film HOMECOMING with Brea Grant

Movie Trailer by Joey Paur

Here's the trailer to a solid looking new film called Homecoming from first time director Sean Hackett. The film stars Brea Grant (Heroes) who plays a character name Estelle, a young Army medic who is on leave in her home town. The movie seems to give a more realistic look at what it's like for a soldier to come home after being in a war. I have friends who have come back from being in war, and it looks like this movie captures what they go through, instead of some of the other overly dramatic films that have come out based on this same concept. This movie looks a bit more laid back.

The movie has gotten some solidly good reviews, and taking home prizes at film festivals over the past few months. If you want to see the film in your area make to demand it! campaign. Here are some reviews that were listed on the Vimeo page.

A surprisingly assured debut, Hackett's film captures a soldier's story with a gentleness and grace that allows the experience of the individual to feel much bigger. - Kate Erbland, Gordon and the Whale

"Writer/Director Sean Hackett scratches (or finds) that hard-to-reach filmmaking place where the storytelling feels effortless." - Phil Pirrello, IGN Movies

"…every once in awhile there's a truly independent film [like Sean Hackett's Homecoming] that pops out of nowhere that deserves as much attention [as the star-studded films]." - Melissa Molina, LatinoReview.com

"Insightful, sensitive and highly entertaining ... 'Homecoming' strikes a unique chord seldom heard in coming of age films."; "I can so relate to this … an excellent movie!" - Cynthia Haines, NPR

"Sean Hackett's Drama 'Homecoming' is a beautiful film …" - Lucas McNelly, Filmmaker Magazine

Here's the Synopsis:

Homecoming is the story of Estelle Szymanski, an Army medic in search of fun while on leave in her hometown of Celebration, Florida.
