Bill Nighy to play villain in I, FRANKENSTEIN

Bill Nighy (Pirates of the Caribbean) is about to take on the role of another villain. Variety reports that Nighy is in talks to play bad guy in I Frankenstein for Lakeshore Entertainment and Hopscotch Productions. Australian thesp Socratis Otto will star as one of Nighy's evil henchmen. Aaron Eckhart stars in the lead role for writer/director Stuart Beattie. The film is based on a graphic novel by Kevin Grevioux, co-creator of the Underworld franchise.

Eckhart is cast as "Adam, Frankenstein's monster who is being hunted by demons that want to learn the secret of his creation in order to build an army of reanimated corpse demons." Nighy is in talks to play
a demon prince. Otto will play his compatriot who is tasked with tracking down and capturing Adam."

The film is being produced by Lakeshore's Tom Rosenberg, Gary Lucchesi and Richard Wright along with Hopscotch's Andrew Mason, while Grievoux will exec produce with Hopscotch's Troy Lum. Filming is scheduled to start in January in Australia, and is slated for release on Feb. 22, 2013.

Nighy is a great choice for a villain, but I like him in all types of roles. He has such a great on screen presence and voice presence. He will next be heard as the voice of Grandsanta in Arthur Christmas. He will be seen alongside Judi Dench and Maggie Smith in John Madden's The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, and reprises his role as Hephaestus in Wrath of the Titans.

I think he this is great casting news, what are your thoughts?
