Man of Steel actor Henry Cavill showed up on Jay Leno last night to talk about a bunch of cool and interesting stuff such as the Superman film that he's currently shooting. The actor also revealed a couple other little tidbit's of movie trivia you may not have know such as the fact that he almost ended up playing the new James Bond. It all came down between he and Daniel Craig, they obviously went with the bigger name. He also revealed that Twilight autor Stephen Meyer wanted him to star in the Twilight films, but ultimately ended up not getting it because he was too old to play a 600 year old vampire. He sure dodged the bullet with that one!
He went on to tell a story about his first encounter with Russell Crowe who plays his father in Man Of Steel, and how 11 years ago Cavill was an extra in Crowe's movie Proof Of Life. Cavill walked up to Crowe and asked what it was like to be an actor... 2 days later received a photo of Russell in Gladiator signed, ‘A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step’. How cool is that!? Cavill went on to talk about how he trained 2 hours a day for 8 months to get into physical Superman awesomeness, and that's what he talks about in the clip below.
