Brian Grazer to replace Brett Ratner as Oscar producer

Just yesterday Brett Ratner stepped down as producer of the Oscars. Now the AMPAS has found a replacement in Brian Grazer. THR reports that the Tower Heist producer has stepped in to replace Ratner as producer of the 84th Academy Awards.

The press release will be sent out soon, but Grazer is at the top of the list of producers being approached by Tom Sherak to co-produce the telecast with Don Mischer. A spokesperson for the J. Edgar producer declined comment as did a separate spokesperson for the Academy.
