Jake Abel is frontrunner for Stephanie Meyer's THE HOST

Jake Abel is the frontrunner for the role of Ian in The Host. Deadline reports that the Lovely Bones actor is expected to enter into negotiations for the adaptation of the science fiction novel by Twilight's Stephanie Meyer. Abel would star alongside Saoirse Ronan in the film that was scripted and will be directed by Andrew Niccol.

For the role of Jake, the list of actors includes Liam Hemsworth, Max Irons, Kit Harington and Jai Courtney. Abel starred with Ronan in Bones, an has starred in I Am Number Four and Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. I have yet to read this series, but probably should since this is planned as a franchise.
