TOMB RAIDER reboot inspired by RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES

I have been a fan of the Tomb Raider video games since college and have been interested in a reboot since it was recently announced. Graham King revealed that the upcoming Tomb Raider reboot was inspired in part by Rise of the Planet of the Apes. The screenplay for the film has been written by Iron Man’s Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby. 

Here is what King had to say about his approach to the new Lara Croft movie:

"For me it's re-inventing the wheel a bit, it's a reboot. We're going back before she was Lara Croft, so it's a much more emotional character piece. She's in search of her parents.

"One of my favorite movies of this year was Rise of the Planet of the Apes and the way they rebooted that franchise. I thought it was fantastic and took a lot away from that for Tomb Raider."

I really enjoyed Planet of the Apes this summere and am excited to see that sequel. This reboot could be pretty cool if it is done well. Check out the video interview and share your thoughts:
