Paramount adapting TIGER’S CURSE and our Top 5 Sci-Fi Book Adaptations!

Paramount Pictures has gotten cursed, according to Deadline. The studio has picked up screen rights to Colleen Houck’s novel Tiger’s Curse. The story is about “a 17-year-old girl who takes a temp job caring for a white tiger at the local circus and sets off on an epic adventure when she discovers the tiger is a cursed Indian prince who turns into a man for only 24 minutes per day. Their quest to end the curse leads them through exotic locales in India and brushes with Hindu gods and goddesses.”

The book was first self-published by Houck on Kindle Books, and then after reaching number 1 on the bestseller fiction list, the book was published by Splinter and is currently near the top of the New York Times Children’s list.  In honor of this cool story we have compiled a list of our Top Five Sci-Fi Books that have been adapted for the screen.

5. Jurassic Park
This movie brought the dinosaurs to life in the best possible way. If Steven Spielberg had not been involved with this project, I do not think it would have turned out as good as it did. The picture and sound quality of the films is phenomenal.

4. Harry Potter
Having read all of the books and seeing the story unfold on screen was a magical experience. I could not ask for a better set of films.

3. Lord of the Rings
Peter Jackson, epic visuals , stellar cast - Nuff Said!

2. The Hunger Games
This move has yet to be released, but it alreadly looks phenomenal from the trailer. I am super excited to see Gary Ross’ adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ novels.

1. Ender’s Game
Filming has not started on this yet, but the GeekTyrant team is very excited and optimistic about the success of this movie.
