Just yesterday we posted a very detailed story summary for the Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell produced Evil Dead remake. If you didn't get a chance to read the spoiler filled information, click here to check it out. The Fede Alvarez directed movie is headed to New Zealand in March to start shooting, and today Sony Pictures has announced that the movie will be released in theaters on April 12th 2013. That gives you over a full year to complain about the movie being made.
The basic premise of the film stays true to the roots of Raimi's original as it follows a group of friends who hole up in a remote cabin where they discover the "Book of the Dead" and accidentally unleash an unrelenting horde of Deadites.
The movie is going to be more focused on the horror this time around than the comedy, which makes sense. After all when Raimi shot the first film he wanted it to be a full blown horror film. I'm actually excited to see how this turns out!
