Bruce Willis in talks to star in LAY THE FAVORITE, TAKE THE DOG & DIE HARD 5 news

Bruce Willis is currently in talks to star in Stephen Frears's Lay the Favorite, Take the Dog opposite Rebecca Hall. The film is an adaptation of Beth Raymer's bestselling book, Lay the Favorite: A Memoir of Gambling, about her rise from lowly Vegas cocktail waitress to one of the top sports gambling bookmakers.

If he signs on, Willis would play the part of Dink Heimowitz, "a cantankerous ex–New York bookmaker under whom Raymer apprenticed in the earlier part of the decade." Raymer has since earned her MFA from Columbia University and was awarded a Fulbright. The project is currently set up at Focus Features.

Vulture also reports that 20th Century Fox is not happy with the Skip Woods' draft of the scrip fro Die Hard 5 and is heading back to the drawing boardWoods wrote both X-Men Origins: Wolverine and The A-Team for the studio.

Willis is in the midst of interviewing directors to oversee the films development. Jorge Daniel Espinosa is currently the frontrunner. The Swedish director is directing Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds in the CIA thriller Safe House at Universal.

I am a huge Bruce Willis fan and I think Rebecca Hall is perfect for this role. I also am glad that Fox is not going with  a crappy script for Die Hard, especially after the fourth film was lackluster.
