GLEE beats Elvis Presley's record for most singles on Billboard Hot 100 chart

The cast of Glee has 113 single entries on the Billboard Hot 100 chart! This beats out Elvis Presley's record for the most singles. (Presley had 108.)

The Gleeks also have more than James Brown (91), Ray Charles (74), Aretha Franklin (73) and The Beatles (71).

The series has been on the air for only two seasons, yet it's earned two platinum and two gold albums and two Grammy nominations. The show has been nominated for 19 Emmys (winning four) and 11 Golden Globes (winning three).

I find the show mildly enjoyable, but this news frankly pisses me off. I am sorry if you are die hard Glee fans. What I can't understand is how these songs are so successful. Each of the 113 singles are not even original. Imagine doing a shot-for-shot copy of The Dark Knight Rises and releasing it to theaters. I am pretty sure it would do well and make loads of money.

The next time you feel compelled to buy one of Glee's singles, please remeber that soneone else recorded it first and most likely better!
