MONSTERS Scoot McNairy cast in lead role for COGAN'S TRADE

Scoot McNairy (Monsters) has been cast in a lead role in the upcoming Cogan's Trade.

He joins an amazing cast that includes, Brad Pitt, Sam Rockwell, Casey Affleck, James Gandolfini, Richard Jenkins, Ray Liotta and Vincent Curatola. Andrew Domink is set to direct the feature adaptation of the pulp crime novel by George V. Higgins. The story follows a "mob enforcer (Pitt) trying to track down the thieves who ripped off a high stakes card game. His character will be a lawyer who shares inside info on the card game."

The small indie horror/thriller only cost $200 million to film and has blown up since it's release. First Gareth Edwards lands a gig directing Godzilla for Legendary Pictures. McNairy is in high demand with two other projects at Fox. He's in the running for a lead in the Ridley Scott's Prometheus. He's also circling the role of Josh Speed in the Timur Bekmambetov-directed Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.

What are your thoughts on this casting news?
