Guy Ritchie Will Not Direct XERXES

A report hit the net a couple days ago saying that Guy Ritchie (Sherlock Holmes) was offered the directing duties to the sequel of Zack Snyder's 300, Xerxes. This came along with rumors that Warner Bros. was unhappy with Snyder. According to a rep from the studio none of this is true, and they call it “an erroneous rumor.”
Snyder is currently heavily involved with getting the Superman reboot off the ground, and he plans to start shooting this summer. Snyder wont be able to take on Xerxes until 2012, but it looks like the studio is going to wait for him. The sequel is currently in development but still has not been officially greenlit by the studio.
I'm much more excited to see Snyder return to this franchise, but it would have been interesting to see what Ritchie would do with it.
