Ingrid Bolsø Berdal cast as Witch in HANSEL AND GRETEL: WITCH HUNTERS
Ingrid Bolsø Berdal has been cast as one of the witches in Dead Snow director Tommy Wirkola's exciting new film project Hansel and Gretel: Watch Hunters. Berdal is from the Cold Prey franchise, and she definitley looks like she could be a witch.
She will join the already cast Jeremy Renner, Gemma Arterton and Famke Janssen. This film is a reimagining of the classic Hansel and Gretel story, and it explores what happened to the brother and sister 15 years after the gingerbread house incident. They have become bounty hunters that specialize in tracking down and killing witches! I can't wait to see this flick!
Will Ferrell and Adam McKay are producing the film and they thought the idea was so cool that they helped push it into production. McKay said in a previous interview:
The idea is, they've grown up and they hunt witches. It's a hybrid sort of "old-timey" feeling, yet there's pump-action shotguns. Modern technology but in an old style. We heard it and we were just like, 'That's a freakin' franchise! You could make three of those!'
The movie is set to hit theaters in 3D on March 2nd 2011.
