Robert Forster set to Star in THE LIFEGUARD: RONALD REAGAN AND HIS STORY

Movie by Joey Paur

Robert Forster has been cast as Ronald Reagan in and new one-man stage play called The Lifeguard: Ronald Reagan and his Life. He will also star in the big screen adaptation of the film. The film and play is being produced by David Permut and Mark Travis, (Give ‘Em Hell, Harry!). It was written by David Rambo and will be directed by Tony Award winner Peter Hunt.

The story will cover Reagan's rise from humble beginnings to Screen Actors Guild president, California governor and iconic U.S. president. It's also reported that the Reagan family has been involved in a consulting capacity through the development of the project.

Forster has been in films and shows such as  Jackie Brown, Hereos, and will show up in J.J. Abrams new TV series Alcatraz. Permut, Travis and Hunt considered several actors for the role of Reagan, before deciding Forster was right for the role.

I recently watched a great documentary on Ronlad Reagan at the Sundance film Festival, and this should make for a great story.
