Vintage video of Walt Disney Introducing the Multiplane Camera for Animation

Here's a fun little history lesson on the early days of Disney animation. The video below features Walt Disney introducing a old new invention called the Multiplane Camera. This is one of those old school tools that were used before computers took over the world. I've seen one of these on display on Disney studios, and it's bigger than it looks.

Disney's invention of the multiplane camera was a groundbreaking achievement in film, enhancing the feeling of depth in traditional animation. This video showcases Walt's explanation of how the camera works from the "Tricks of Our Trade" episode of Disneyland, which aired February 13, 1957.

Watch the video below and feel free to share your thoughts!
