Why is Jennifer Lawrence being the Frontrunner for THE HUNGER GAMES new News today?

I just have to address this because I find it absolutley ridiculous. On March 3rd a report came out saying that Jennifer Lawrence from Winter's Bone was the frontrunner for the lead role of Katniss Everdeen in the big screen adaptation of The Hunger Games. Awesome! That's great, and I hope she gets the part!

But today a report came out from Deadline saying that Jennifer Lawerence is the frontrunner for the lead role in The Hunger Games. Wait... do you see what I see? There is absolutley nothing new about this new report! Yet a good amount of websites are reporting on this news where absolutley nothing has changed in it's status. Lawrence is still the frontrunner, but she's not officially signed on to the project yet. 

I'm sorry, but until she's officially signed then there's no new news here. I know she was up against a couple of other actresses, but she was still the studios first choice back on March 3rd when this news was first reported. 

Sorry, I just had to say something because the internet is a mad beast of ridiculousness sometimes. 

The Hunger Games will be directed by Gary Ross, and the story takes place in the futuristic ruins of North America, which crumbled and was replaced by a Capitol and 12 districts. Each district is forced to supply 2 teenagers, between 12 and 18. They participate in The Hunger Games, a televised reality series that pits the contestants against one another in a battle to the death. The heroine is 16-year old Katniss Everdeen, a skilled hunter who’s adept with a bow and arrow. She replaces her younger sister, who was chosen in a lottery. She is joined by a baker's son who is also chosen from her dirt poor home district.
