GAME OF THRONES creators share their vision for the HBO drama

If there was one reason I wish I had HBO still it's Game of Thrones. The drama, based on George R.R. Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire” fantasy novels, premieres on April 17. The shows creators spoke with the LA Times about their vision for the complex series that is full of sex and violence.

David Benioff and Dan Weiss have been working on the series since 2006 and here is what they had to say to the Times:

"There are certain things we are never going to be able to do the way Peter Jackson could with 'Lord of the Rings. On the other hand, we have a lot more time to spend with our characters. And at this point in my life as a 40-year-old man, I am much more excited by George’s stories than I am by ‘Lord of the Rings.’”

Sounds great, I am looking forward to the series that claims“Winter is coming” this spring! Fans of the books have been waiting for the 5th volume for five years. A publication date's been set for July,  but Martin continues to insist that:  “A chapter or two to go.”

Are you as excited for this show as I am?
