Disney has hired Karl Gajdusek to rewrite their upcoming Joseph Kosinski project Horizons (formerly titled Oblivion). Gajdusek recently wrote the Nicolas Cage-Nicole Kidman thriller Trespass

Kosinski (Tron Legacy) came up with the concept for the film which is "a sci-fi actionner centering on a soldier assigned to patrol a desolate planet who meets a mysterious traveler." Disney is partnering with Radical Pictures to bring the film to the screen. William Monahan (The Departed and Kingdom of Heaven) wrote the first draft of the script.

Gajdusek was responsible for Unknown, starring Liam Neeson and is currently writing the thriller, Cradle Will Fall, that Unique Pictures is producing for Screen Gems.

Sounds like a cool concept, what are your thoughts on the news?
