Nicolas Cage and John Travolta Could Re-Team for 2 Films
It looks like Nicolas Cage and John Travolta are going to team up for possibly not one, but two new films again for the first time since they starred together in 1997's Face/Off.
One film is called Shrapnel written by Evan Doughtery (Snow White and the Huntsman). It was on the 2008 screenwriter Black List of unproduced films. It follows a former Bosnian soldier who seeks vengeance against the American who badly wounded him by disguising a deadly war game as a friendly backwoods hunting trip.
This sounds like it would be a great movie! The film is gearing up for a June shoot date.
The second project comes from producer Chuck Roven and is called Sea Trial, from City Island writer/director Raymond De Felitta. The film is based on the eponymous novel by De Felitta's father, novelist Frank De Felitta. The book is about a couple that takes a pleasant cruise which slowly starts to go very wrong.
Here's the description from the book:
It was the perfect ending to a perfect affair – fourteen blissful days and nights alone on the sultry blue Caribbean. In the pleasant, tactful company of Captain McCracken and his wife, the two lovers began their cruise. But slowly the pleasure began to change. Chores were assigned. Meals started to get smaller. There was something very wrong on board the ‘Penny Dreadful’. Something without form and without fear. Something evil.
This sounds like it could be a really interesting film project as well. I'm not the biggest fan of Cage or Travolta, but there's something about the two actors starring in the same movie together again that's pretty cool. I hope at least one of these movie work out and movie forward with both actors. What do you think?
