Drew Pearce has been tapped by Marvel to write the script for Iron Man 3. It was first tought that director Shane Black might also write the screenplay, but that's not the case. Robert Downey Jr. is reprising his role as Tony Stark once filming ha wrapped on The Avengers. At this time there aren't any story details available. Pearce wrote the latest draft of Runaways for Marvel, which centers on "a group of super powered teenagers who discover their parents are evil villains."
Pearce will work closely with Shane Black to develop the film that Marvel is saying will be written from scratch. Does that mean that Marvel is hinting that it is a "reboot"? That makes no sense to me. Does this make sense to anyone else?
Iron Man 3 arrives in theaters on May 3rd, 2013
