Las Vegas magician Lance Burton working on an indie magic film
Audiences have flocked to see Lance Burton in droves as he's perfrom some pretty cool illusions on stage and soon they will be able to see him on screen in theaters. He recently ended his contract early and has been hard at work filming an indie magic film.
Here is some more details about the film from Robin Leach’s Vegas Deluxe:
Lance told me that his entertainment partner, juggler Michael Goudeau, and he are now one-third of the way through shooting their indie magic film. “We have a 100-page script, and we’ve completed about 30 pages so far,” Lance said. “We’re really pleased with the way it’s coming along, and I’m having great fun taking on an acting role.
“Yes, it has lots of magic, but filmmaking has become a very interesting part of my life, having retired from the live magic performances. I still have the Gone Fishing sign up in a sense because the indie movie is the only thing so far I’ve wanted to do.”
Having spent a lot of time in Vegas I have seen many a giant billboard featuring Lance Burton towering over the strip. I have unfortunately never seen him perfrom in person, but I am sure he will be able to bring some authenticity to the film. I am interested to see what type of story the film will have.
Goudeau has previously worked on collaborations with Penn Jillette, including a writing job on Bullshit. What are your thoughts on this news?
