Blu-ray Review: MORTAL KOMBAT ANNIHILATION

Warner Brothers' Mortal Kombat Annihilation is the obvious follow up to Mortal Kombat.  This movie lacks on so many levels and seemed rushed. It does follow the video game characters and their tricks and weapons they use but doesn't introduce them well and the story is very weak.  The Blu-ray runs 95 minutes of PG-13 special effects cheesy action.

John R. Leonetti directs this follow-up that is a visually enjoying watch on Blu-ray but it just doesn't have any new character development. Robin Shou reprises his role as Liu Kang who leads almost an entirely recast group of heroes in this sequel, we still have Talisa Soto as Kitana who joins Kang and also Chris Conrad (Johnny Cage) for about a minute unitl he meets his early doom. To me the Blu-ray is still entertaining simply to watch the special effects. The Blu-ray offers a much clearer watch and any Mortal Kombat fanatic will probably add this to their collection. A visually fun watch for the Mortal Kombat fans with hardly no story line at all.
