Fox Movie Channel announces new series called IN DEVELOPMENT

Today Fox Movie Channel announced the premiere of a new series of specials called In Development, with the first episode featuring 20th Century Fox. The specials will feature in-depth conversations with filmmaker's who share insights on a films production from inspiration through the beginning of filming. The first episode will feature the upcoming film Water For Elephants starring Reese Witherspoon, Robert Pattinson and Christoph Waltz

Los Angeles, April 13, 2011 – Fox Movie Channel announces the premiere of a new series of specials entitled In Development. The specials will be in-depth conversations with filmmakers who guide the development process of a movie from the moment of inspiration to when the cameras roll on the first day of production.

This series of specials kicks off with an episode revealing the development of the eagerly-anticipated 20th Century Fox feature Water for Elephants starring Academy Award winning actress Reese Witherspoon (Walk the Line), Robert Pattinson and Oscar-winner Christoph Waltz.

In this first episode, the filmmakers discuss the development process of turning the bestselling novel by Sara Gruen into a movie. The film’s producers, director, screenwriter and studio executive discuss the behind the-scenes steps beginning with securing the rights, writing the screenplay, casting the roles, location scouting and getting the “greenlight” leading to production.

Water For Elephants premieres nationwide in theaters, Friday April 22.

The first episode of In Development premieres Sunday, April 17 at 7:30pm EDT (4:30pm PDT) on Fox Movie Channel. The episode repeats throughout the month.
