RESTLESS and KUNG FU PANDA 2 headed to Cannes, full list Thursday!

News has broke today that Gus Van Sant's Restless and Kung Fu Panda 2 are set to play Cannes Film Festival. They join films like The Tree of Life and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. Earlier we reported that Sony Pictures Classics would be releasing Restless in theaters later this year.

Restless stars Mia Waskiowska and Henry Hooper and will be opening the festival’s Un Certain Regard section, which focuses on “original and different” cinema. The script was written by Jason Lew and tells the story of "a powerful and emotional coming of age story that centers on the relationship of two outsiders brought together by unforeseen circumstances. The story of friendship becomes an engaging and provocative love story." Kung Fu Panda 2 is the second summer blockbuster like Pirates announced to be premiering at the festival this year.
