Anna Faris sets up untitled stalker comedy at Paramount Pictures

Paramount Pictures has just purchased an untitled comedy project from Anna Faris as a starring vehicle. According to THR, the story revolves "around Faris and a new roommate, who turns out to be a stalker from hell." Plot details are still under wraps. The initial idea came from a real-life incident that happened to Faris. But was turned into a story idea by her agent and manager, and was further developed by writer Deanna Kizis (who co-wrote Camp Rules for Montecito) and Patel.  Kizis will now write the script for the feature.

Joe Roth and Palak Patel of Roth Films are on board to produce, with Faris serving as executive producer with Doug Wald. One of the few female comedic actresses that can open movies, Faris (Scary Movie, The House Bunny) will next star in Fox’s What’s Your Number, which opens September 30.

While I am not a huge fan of the Scary Movie franchise I did enjoy The House Bunny and think Faris is pretty funny. This has the potential to be funny. What are your thoughts?
