Tyler Perry talks STAR TREK 2 and I, ALEX CROSS
Tyler Perry talked about Star Trek 2 and I, Alex Cross in a recent interview with IamRogue. Perry is a man of many talents, and has had success as an actor, director, writer and producer. He's best known for playing the role of Madea in six films, including Diary Of A Mad Black Woman, Madea's Family Reunion, Meet the Browns, Madea Goes To Jail, I Can Do Bad All By Myself, and Madea's Big Happy Family (opening on April 22nd). He also produced the Oscar winning film Precious.
I am not a fan of the Madea film's, but thought it was cool to see him as Starfleet Academy commandant Admiral Barnett in J.J. Abrams' Star Trek. As we reported, he'll be taking over for Morgan Freeman as Dr. Alex Cross in Rob Cohen's (xXx) upcoming reboot. Freeman starred as Cross in Kiss the Girls and Along Came A Spider, both based on James Patterson's novels. The new film starring Perry is currently in prodcution and will also star Matthew Fox (Lost) and Ed Burns (Saving Private Ryan).
Perry has not been asked to reprise his role in Star Trek 2 and stated that he doesn't think that the script for the sequel has been completed yet. It would be nice to have him back in the Trek sequel. I am mainly excited about I, Alex Cross for Matthew Fox, but am sure Perry will do well. Check out the video below and share your thoughts!
