Taylor Kitsch Gives Update on GAMBIT Spin-Off Movie

Around the time of the release of X-Men Origin: Wolverine there was a lot of talk about a Deadpool spin-off film, and a Gambit spin-off film. Deadpool took off and the film production for it is coming together. As for Gambit, there seems to have been no movement on it at all. Taylor Kitsch, the actor that played the character, recently gave an interview and talked about the films status... it doesn't sound like it's going to happen any time soon.

There were strong rumors a while ago, but I haven't heard or seen anything tangible anyways. I know if we do it, it'll probably be down the road and we'll do it hopefully a lot darker. I'd love to play him again, but it's a matter of doing it right, too. There's no point in just doing it for the sake of doing it. You gotta kill if you're going to do it, so we'll see.

Gambit is an awesome character, and I'd love to see a stand alone movie with him, just as much as I want to see a Deadpool movie. But like Kitsch said, it has to be done right, it has to be dark, otherwise there's no point. What do you think about Gambit getting his own movie? Should Fox move forward with it, or should they leave it alone?
