Paramount Insurge Pictures may Develop new Horror film STRANDED

It looks like Paramount Pictures new micro-budget indie film company Insurge will be bringing in a new horror thriller called Stranded. The studio is currently in negotiations in picking up the project, which was written by From Chris Morgan (Fast Five) and Chris Borrelli (The Vatican Tapes).

According to bloody-disgusting, the story "follows a group of college kids who are trapped inside their broken-down SUV surrounded, and thus hunted down by evil. The script is being described as Phone Booth meets Buried, with nearly the entire film taking place in a Chevy Suburban."

Sounds like a fun film that can be made on a really small budget. The goal behind Insurge to to produce ten micro-budget films of $100,000 each and distribute them. It will allow for new filmmakers to break into the industry and open the doors to more new original content, where filmmakers will have to focus more on story than special effects, it will force people to be more creative.

The studio started this program after the big success of Paranormal Activity.
