WonderCon 2011: THE WALKING DEAD novel will focus on a character no longer alive in the series!

The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman shared some cool news this past weekend at WonderCon about the upcoming novel.

Kirkman had this to say;

I can say that it focuses on a character that is probably one of the most popular characters from the Walking Dead comic. But they are not in the comic anymore. So it's kind of their backstory. And it fills in a lot of gaps from the comic series that you may not have even known were even there. It's really cool.

It's a fun novel. It's kind of cool. It definitely fits into the Walking Dead world of the comic books, and fills in the gaps.

There's no title set for the book or any other details for that matter. Kirkman does say that he's taking a backseat for this projects.

Jay Bonansinga did the lion's share of the heavy lifting on that. I provided him story outlines and character beats and where I wanted the story to go and what I wanted the people to do. But as far as the nuts and bolts of actually putting that together, that was all Jay.

The novel is scheduled for release this fall along with the TV series. That should get even more attention for both sides of TWD universe.  If that's not enough there's also a TWD video game that might hit store shelves in october!

No author bio. End of line.
