Willem Dafoe in talks to join ODD THOMAS

Willem Dafoe is currently in negotiations to play Sheriff Wyatt Porter in Stephen Sommers' Odd Thomas adaptation based on Dean Koontz's best-selling novel. If he finalizes the deal he will star opposite Anton Yelchin as "the titular hero, a clairvoyant short-order cook who encounters a mysterious man with a link to dark forces." Earlier we reported that Addison Timlin (Californication) was in talks to play the protagonist's girlfriend, Stormy Llewellyn.

In the book, "Sheriff Porter knows that Odd can see ghosts, and he creates cover stories to protect that secret, as Odd helps him solve and prevent crimes." John Baldecchi and Howard Kaplan of Fusion Films are producing the supernatural thriller along with Sommers, who adapted the screenplay. Filming is scheduled to begin in Santa Fe, NM on May 2.
