Alec Baldwin drops out of ROCK OF AGES

Movie Alec Baldwin by

Alec Baldwin has dropped out of Adam Shankman's adaptation of Rock of Ages at New Line. Earlier Shankman had Tweeted that Baldwin had joined the cast. Since March, he has been set to play Dennis Dupree, the owner of the Bourbon Room, the Sunset Boulevard nightclub at the center of the movie.

The film still has a great cast that includes, Tom Cruise, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Russell Brand, Paul Giamatti, Malin Akerman, Bryan Cranston, Mary J. Blige, Julianne Hough, and newcomer Diego Boneta. Shankman is directing based on a script by Chris D'Arienzo.

I wonder who they will get to film the major role now that Baldwin has exited? I am not typically a fan of musicals, but I can't pass up seeing Crusie sing and dance. Are you excited to see this film? Who do you think would be a good choice to fill the vacated spot?
