Anna Faris in Talks to Join THE DICTATOR

Anna Faris has been offered the female lead role in Sacha Baron Cohen's new film The Dictator. The actress is now in negotiations to join the Paramount Pictures comedy.

The film will be directed by Larry Charles (Borat, Bruno) from a script written by Alec BergJeff Schaffer, and David Mandel. in the film "Baron Cohen plays a ruthless dictator who heads to the U.S. for a meeting at the United Nations and finds that his number two has replaced him with an unsuspecting sheepherder lookalike. As the dictator wanders the city, he meets the owner of an organic food store," which is the role Faris is probably going to fill. She ends up turning around the dictators dictatorial thinking, and there's some romance in it as well. It is inspired by the best selling novel Zabibah and The King by Saddam Hussein. Cohen will be playing both the dictator and sheepherder in the story.

Faris is hit or miss for me, I like her is some films I hate her in others, but this looks like it could be a good solid role for her. Ben Kingsley has also recently joined the cast of this film, he will play one of the Middle Eastern characters who factor into the plot. Filming begins this May on location in New York and Morocco. The Dictator will be released on May 11th, 2012.

What do you all think about Faris joining this film project?
