THE LION KING roars back into theaters in 3D on Sept. 16

Movie by

Here is a followup to a story we first reported on back in June of last year.  The Lion King is heading back to theater in Disney Digital 3D on Sept. 16, 2011. This is one of a number of films set for rerelease. James Cameron has remastered Titanic and is releasing it in 3D on April 6, 2012. George Lucas is also releasing Star Wars in 3D in 2012.

The Lion King was first released in 1994. It's still the highest-grossing hand drawn animation film of all time, earning $783.8 million at the worldwide box office. I am not a huge fan of 3D, but I will say that I am interested to see how these films turn out.

What are your thoughts?
