Three New Characters Revealed for Season 2 of THE WALKING DEAD

TV The Walking Dead by Joey Paur

Last October AMC unleashed one hell of a great TV series The Walking Dead. The show blew up and launched zombies into the main stream. There were some mixed feelings about the series after the first season ended, but I absolutely loved it, and I'm looking forward to season 2. Walking Dead comic writer and the shows executive producer Robert Kirkman, said in a previous interview that more characters would be introduced in the second season and three of them have been revealed, that will accompany Rick Grimes and the survivors on their zombie journey.

The three new characters joining The Walking Dead are Hershel, Maggie and Otis. Hershel is described as a "Wilford Brimley type" and veterinarian who owns a farm that the survivors eventually stumble across. This is where Rick Grimes and the other survivors take temporary refuge in the comic. As a veterinarian, he has medical experience which comes in handy for the survivors several times. A relatively fit man for his age. He is also deeply religious. His only reason for life is the protection and survival of his children. Maggie is one of Hershel's daughters.

As for Otis, he is the ranch foreman who was a kind and good-natured person, but that eventually changes. There is something he does in the comics (I won't spoil for those who haven't read it) that changes his demeanor.

I had a feeling these characters would make it into the series, it will give the series a solid storyline and interesting characters to work with. What are your thoughts on the characters that have been added?
