PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN 5 Script Turned in to Disney

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides hasn't even been released yet, but Disney is betting that it's going to be a big success. The studio already hired Terry Rossio to write a script for the fifth installment of the franchise and he turned it in to the studio this past weekend.

Johnny Depp who plays Captain Jack Sparrow in the franchise hasn't read the script yet, and it sounds like he would like to take a break from the role. Here's what Depp had to say in a statement.

It boils down to story, script and filmmaker. It's not something where I would say, 'Let's shoot it next month to get it out by Christmas 2012. We should hold off for a bit. They should be special, just like they are special to me.

There's really no point with rushing these Pirates movies out. If Disney wants to keep making them then yeah, they should space them out by a couple years each. There's no need to release one movie a year. I'm looking forward to watching this the fourth film, but parts 2 and 3 did leave a bad taste in my mouth. It looks like director Rob Marshall and Producer Jerry Bruckheimer did some really cool this time around.

What do you think Disney should with the Pirates franchise from here on out?
