Unproduced GODFATHER Screenplay by Mario Puzo to Be Released as Book

The Godfather and The Godfather Part 2 are two of the greatest films ever produced . The characters in these stories are simply incredible, and in June of 2012 we will find out the story behind how Vito Corleone rose to power.  

Mario Puzo wrote a screenplay for a prequel to The Godfather that was never developed as a film. The title of the story is The Family Corleone, and it takes place "before the Corleones' rise to power and tells the story of how young Vito Corleone fought his way through New York's criminal underworld to become the powerful "Don" introduced in The Godfather."

We kind of got a taste of this back story in The Godfather Part 2, but they one really kind of touched on his experiences. It's a shame that this film never got made. But who knows, maybe it will some day. 

Ed Falco is the author that will adapt the screenplay into book form, and I'm excited to read it. What do you all think about this new book which was basically written by the stories original author Mario Puzo?
