Wes Bentley Cast in THE HUNGER GAMES

Another familiar face has joined Gary Ross' adaptation of The Hunger games. Wes Bentley is set to play Seneca Crane in the movie. Crane was the Head Gamemaker of the 74th Hunger Games. I won't go into details about what he does in the story as it will be considered a spoiler.

Bentley is a solid actor who has been in films such as American Beauty, The Four Feathers, Ghost Rider, The Claim and a bunch of other films, some good, some bad. He'll make a great addition to the cast and will do just fine in the role he's been cast in.

Bentley will join the already cast Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Amandla Stenberg, Elizabeth Banks, Dayo Okeniyi, Leven Rambin, Jack Quaid, Liam HemsworthPaula Malcolmson, Willow ShieldsIan Nelson, Ethan Jamieson,Tara MackenKalia Prescott, Chris Mark, Jackie Emerson, Ashton Moio, Kara Petersen, Sam Ly, Samuel Tan, Mackenzie Lintz and Leigha Hancock. It was also rumored that offers went out to Woody Harrelson, Stanley Tucci and Lenny Kravitz to appear in the film.

The Hunger Games takes place in the futuristic ruins of North America, which crumbled and was replaced by a Capitol and 12 districts. Each district is forced to supply 2 teenagers, between 12 and 18. They participate in The Hunger Games, a televised reality series that pits the contestants against one another in a battle to the death. The heroine is 16-year old Katniss Everdeen, a skilled hunter who’s adept with a bow and arrow. She replaces her younger sister, who was chosen in a lottery. She is joined by a baker's son who is also chosen from her dirt poor home district.

The movie is set to be released on March 23, 2012. What are your thoughts on Bentley joining the film?
