Movie Bill Murray by

Laura Linney has joined the cast of Roger Mitchell's Hyde Park on the Hudson. Earlier we reported that Bill Murray was going to play Franklin Delano Roosevelt and now Linney is set to play his wife Eleanor Roosevelt. The story is set in 1939 and follows the visit of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth to President Roosevelt's upstate New York home, which was called Hyde Park on Hudson. This meeting took place the summer before World War II started. It was also during this weekend visit that details of FDR's private life begin to unfold, including his affair with his distant cousin Daisy. Mithcell (Notting Hill) will direct the film based on Richard Nelson's script. The projec will be sold by Focus Features at Cannes next week.

Linney stars in The Big C, and will be seen opposite Tobey Maguire and Elizabeth Banks in The Details from director Jacob Aaron Estes. She is great in The Big C and is a strong character actor and will be perfect in this role. What are your thoughts on this casting news?
