Michael Fassbender is circling a role in Danny Boyle's Trance. The film reportedly has a harder edge like Boyle's Trainspotting and Shallow Grave, with a story revolving around an art heist gone wrong. The project has a similar budget to Slumdog Millionaire and 127 Hours, and is being produced with Christian Colson (Boyle's producing partner).
Boyle and Colson are in talks with Fox Searchlight and Pathe to distribute. Filming is slated to begin in London this September in London. Boyle plans to take a break after shooting to focus on directing upcoming Summer Olympics in London. Trance is expected to arrive in theaters in March 2013.
