Darren Aronofsky directing HBO'S HOBGOBLIN pilot

It looks as though Darren Aronofsky has finally found his next project. He is set to direct HBO's upcoming drama pilot, Hobgoblin. Michael Chabon and his wife, Ayelet Waldman, are writing the pilot. The story follows "a group of con men and magicians who use their skills of deception to help defeat Hitler and the Germans during World War II." The project is being executive produced by Aronofsky, Chabon and Waldman along with John Lesher and Adam Kassan.

Aronofsky has been very picky about choosing his next directing gig since Black Swan. He dropped out of Fox's The Wolverine, to the dismay of many fans. This new project sounds amazing, and will be a much better choice for him to direct.  He has recently been shopping his big budget take on the story of Noah's ark, titled Noah.

HBO is famous for putting together great casts with amazing directors on their series, so this is great news! I am excited about this project because it sounds like it will feature a bunch of cool characters, a great story. What are your thoughts on this news? Are you excited to see this show?
