Don Scardino directing Steve Carell in BURT WONDERSTONE

Don Scardino has been hired by New Line to direct Steve Carell's Burt Wonderstone. The comedy will be Scardino's first time directing a feature film. Production begins this October in Los Angeles. Carell plays "a magician who knocks off his longtime stage partner, and then fights for relevance when a new, younger and hipper street magician appears on the Las Vegas strip and steals his thunder."

The script was written by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, (writers of New Line's comedy Horrible Bosses), with a story written by Tyler Mitchell and Chad Kultgen. Wonderstone is being produced by Mitchell, Chris Bender and JC Spink. Casting of the rival magician is expected to be completed soon. Scardino is best known for his directing work in 30 Rock.

I like Carell and am sure that Scardino will do a fine job as director. I would love to see John C. Reilly as the rival magician. Carell and Reilly would be able to work well of one another on screen. Who would you like to see as the rival magician? What are your thoughts on this film?
