The Final Moments of Peter Parker in THE DEATH OF ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN
This is *spoiler* territory for those of you who have been reading Ultimate Spider-Man.
We've all heard that this moment has been coming. In the upcoming issue of Ultimate Spider-Man #160 Peter Parker ends up being killed during a vicious battle with the Green Goblin, "who targeted Spidey for death after escaping from S.H.I.E.L.D. custody. With the help of Iceman and the Human Torch, Spider-Man makes his last stand in Queens, saving Aunt May and Gwen Stacy before dying in Mary Jane Watson's arms."
A couple of the last panels to this comic book have been released showing us Parkers final moments. It will be interesting to see the final blow that ended up taking him out. The writer of the comic Brian Michael Bendis had this to say in a recent interview,
Listen, I sat there typing this thing with tears in my eyes like a big baby!" Bendis says. "I went upstairs to my wife, and I go, 'I am so embarrassed. I think I've literally been crying for 45 minutes.' I've had real things happen in my life I didn't cry about, and yet I'm crying about this. I became very proud of it, and that's not an adjective I often put on myself.
Bendis goes on to talk about the fate of the Green Goblin, which is supposedly held in the final panel of the issue, the writer explains.
I am completely leaving that up to interpretation. There's a lot of finality to the issue, so I'm going to leave that one open.
