LOCKE & KEY Series Pilot to Screen at Comic-Con
FOX will be showing off the pilot of their new TV series Locke & Key at San Diego Comic-Con. The show is an adaptation of the Joe Hill created comic book, and the series was developed by producers Steven Speilberg, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. Josh Friedman (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, War of the Worlds) is writing the script and Mark Romanek (One Hour Photo, Never Let Me Go) is directing.
The Locke & Key panel will take place on July 22 at 10:30 AM and will include a screening of the pilot, followed by a discussion with Hill, Rodriguez, the pilot's writer/executive producer Josh Friedman and executive producers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci.
The series stars Jesse McCartney as Ty, the eldest son of the Locke children. Ty was the closest with his dad in the story, and carries a special guilt for his father's death. The character isolates himself by retreating into his music. Nick Stahl takes the role of an art teacher named Duncan Locke.
The story follows Nina Locke and her three children as they move to Keyhouse, the family home in Lovecraft, MA to recover from an unspeakable horror. Keyhouse is a mysterious New England mansion with fantastic and transformative keys that are hidden inside its walls. The keys are being are being sought after by a sinister and relentless creature with ties to the family's past who will stop at nothing to accomplish its goals.
I'm looking forward to this show, it is abased on a great story, and I think it will make for a solid entertaining TV series. We will definitely be covering the panel at the Con.
