E3 2011 First Impressions - SILENT HILL: DOWNPOUR

I’ve been a fan of Silent Hill from the very beginning, I just love the hell out of how jacked up this video game franchise is. I’ve played through all of the games, and spent many dark nights scaring the shit out of myself while playing it.

Silent Hill: Downpour is the latest game in the franchise and I had a chance to play around with it for about 30 minutes. The game will be available to play in 3D which give everything a dew depth of horrific terror. I have yet to be sold on 3D gaming, but there was something about playing Silent Hill in 3D that was very cool for me.

The game has got the same creepily insane feel to it, but the graphics and design are better than they’ve ever been. The monsters are also getting more fierce looking and jacked up. I love this franchises monster designs. The gameplay is pretty much the same where you have to go around trying to find clues to progress in the story of the dark netherworld that is Silent Hill.

The Silent Hill franchise has yet to let me down, in fact the games have been getting better and better in terms of graphics and story. I’ve already played all the games and I’m not stopping here, I’ll be picked up a copy of this game for sure.

Here's the short story synopsis:

Silent Hill: Downpour follows Murphy Pendleton, a prisoner who is stranded in the town of Silent Hill after the prison transport vehicle he is being transported with careens off a road. The plot's events take place in the southeastern region of Silent Hill, which has never been explored in previous games in the series, and the plot will be unrelated to previous installments.
