Zach Galifianakis reveals HANGOVER Part III plot details
Zach Galifianakis has revealed some plot details for The Hangover Part III in an interview with Rolling Stone magazine. Earlier we reported that Craig Mazin was set to return to pen the script. Director Todd Phillips stated that the third film would "not revolve around a wedding, and it will not revolve around a forgotten night." After the sequel was released, a number of the stars mentioned the possibility of the third film taking place in Amsterdam.
In the interview with the magazine, Galifianakis said, "They want to do a Hangover III. I'm getting fricking phone calls already." He goes on to reveal tha they plan to "ditch format of the first two and focus on Alan (Galifianakis) after he escapes from a mental institution with help from the wolf pack — Phil (Bradley Cooper), Stu (Ed Helms) and Doug (Justin Bartha)."
In what seemed like a joke, Mazin stated to BadassDigest that he had very dark plans for the film:
I think the third movie ends with Doug staring at a row of crosses in a graveyard. It’s everyone – his wife, his family is dead, everybody from the first movie is dead. Somebody shows up and tells him his dog is dead.
When any films makes $205 million in worldwide box office on opening weekend you can bet a sequel is in the works. The film has since gone on to make $192.3 million domestically and over $343 million worldwide. I loved the sequel just as much as I did the first film, so I have had my bags packed for a third film from the beginning. These are THE best comedic characters I have ever seen on the big screen in modern film.
