Release date set for Rian Johnson's LOOPER

A release date has been set for Rian Johnson's third feature film, Looper. Distribution rights were picked up by FilmDistrict at the Cannes Film Festival last month. Looper is set for release on September 28, 2012 by Sony's TriStar Pictures. Filming just wrapped, so this date will allow for Johnson to edit and complete the VFX for the film. Joseph Gordon-LevittBruce WillisPaul Dano, Jeff Daniels and Emily Blunt and is about a group of hitmen who receive their assignments from the future. They use time-travel to cover the tracks of their murders.

September already has three films scheduled for release, including Resident Evil: Retribution and the animated Hotel Transylvania. I loved Brick and The Brother's Bloom so I am very excited to see Looper. The bonus for me is that it arrives the day before my birthday, so I guess I have my birthday film picked out.
