Arnold Schwarzenegger confirmed for LAST STAND

Movie Arnold Schwarzenegger by

It looks like Lionsgate's Last Stand is back on and Arnold Schwarzenegger is confirmed to star. Earlier we reported that Schwarzenegger was set to star in the western and that Jee-woon Kim was set to make his English-language debut in this long-in-development project. That was reported before the actors marital problems became public knowledge. Deadline reports that Last Stand looks as thought it will start filming in September of this year.

Liam Neeson was attached to star, but decided to focus on other projects. The story will follow the exploits of a drug cartel leader who blasts his way out of a courtroom, steals a car, and heads towards the Mexican border. Arnold Schwarzenegger will play a sheriff with an inexperienced staff who becomes involved with trying to stop the cartel leader from entering Mexico after the two parties inadvertently cross paths.

This sounds like a great project for Schwarzenegger. It will be cool to see Jee-Woon Kim directing the film as well. What are your thoughts on this news?
