Geek Art: Wolverine Sure Gained some Weight

Now I wonder, does Wolverine's power actually prevent him from gaining weight and getting out of shape? This is something I never really thought until I saw this image of a Wolverine that let himself go. The piece was done by Deviant Art user PandaFace. Here's a note from the artist,

I'm not a Wolverine fan, exactly, but what I am a fan of is drawing him as a big fat guy.
