Up until this new image was released for Francis Ford Coppola's Twixt, I had no idea what to expect from this new gothic horror thriller other than that it was going to be very unique. It was also described as an experimental film “one part Gothic romance, one part personal film, and one part the kind of horror film that began my career."
This image of Elle Fanning (Super 8) definitely has a unique look for Coppola, and actually looks like something out of a Tim Burton movie. It's not much to go off of, but I like what I see so far. The film also features Joanne Whalley, Val Kilmer, Bruce Dern, Ben Chaplin, Don Novello, David Paymer, and Alden Ehrenreich.
There will be a panel for this film at Comic-Con this year taking place in Hall H on Saturday, July 23rd. I'm actually looking forward to seeing more of this film project that Coppola has been working on. What are your thoughts about the image above?
Here's a previously released description of the film:
A writer with a declining career arrives in a small town as part of his book tour and gets caught up in a murder mystery involving a young girl. That night in a dream, he is approached by a mysterious young ghost named V. He’s unsure of her connection to the murder in the town, but is grateful for the story being handed to him. Ultimately he is led to the truth of the story, surprised to find that the ending has more to do with his own life than he could ever have anticipated.
